Beverley Ward and Ruth Harneis are teaming up to offer a Mid-Summer Yoga Writing Retreat on the Summer Solstice weekend 2025, in sunny Bridlington, North Yorkshire coast.

Half way through the year, the Summer Solstice is a time to reassess what you will carry on with, throughout the year and what you will leave behind.

Kind Yoga will facilitate mindful movement that releases tension in the body, builds strength, flexibility and connects you to your inner self. You will be guided to notice your felt sense and to use that information for decision making on the mat, off the mat and in writing. 

Taking place in a beautiful house just a stone’s throw from the long, sandy, south beach in Bridlington, you’ll be nourished by veggie/vegan food and nurtured by your facilitators in the perfect of blend of yoga and writing, making maximum use of the ocean’s energy where possible.

Our yoga practice will consist of breath work and minful movement, releasing tension in the body, building strength, flexibility and connection to your inner self.

Writing will respond to the yoga practice, to the season and to the ocean, inviting you to listen to your self and to reflect on your experiences.

Suitable for beginners and those who are more experienced with yoga and/or writing, you’ll be in safe hands with your experienced facilitators.

What to expect:

Activities for the weekend are optional and some are weather-dependent. Expect evening gatherings, morning yoga on the beach and dip in the sea, afternoon writing workshop, karma yogi practise of working together in the kitchen for some meals, and some provided by local caterer, Katy Wheelwright.

We will be practising silence for short periods, accessing the beach as often as weather permits and there is a request for no alcohol.

About your facilitators:

Beverley Ward is a well-known facilitator of writing with twenty years’ experience of running writing workshops and retreats. A trained life coach and creative practitioner, Beverley believes in the power of writing to release us from limiting beliefs and to find freedom.

Ruth Harneis - Kind Yoga guides her students to notice their felt sense and to use this information for decision making, on and off the mat.
